Sgramblo is a lively, humorous adventure story about bullies, family, loyalty and motorbikes, based in Maesunig School in a south Wales valley.
Fourteen-year-old, Davidde (his parents had difficulty spelling) lives with his widowed father. His father is doing his best to raise him and Davidde is a model pupil at school. However, when the new headmaster accuses Davidde of trouble, he gets more involved in his new-found passion for scrambling. By excelling in his new hobby Davidde confronts the school bullies, earns his father’s respect and solves the mystery of the Black Rider.
It is a book that will appeal to boys but also includes strong female characters and has a father-son relationship at the heart of its story.
