Penny Thomas, Publisher at award-winning children’s and YA publisher Firefly Press, has acquired World rights to Welsh Giants, Ghosts and Goblins a thoroughly modern collection of myths and legends for 8-12 year olds by Claire Fayers, from Gemma Cooper at The Bent Agency UK.
These are a mix of giant, ghost and goblin stories from all parts of Wales, collected, retold and reimagined by Claire Fayers, with the character of Idris the giant weaving through the book as he collects stories on his adventure. Some stories now have modern settings, some mythological creatures have been used in new tales by Claire but there are also representations of classic folk tales as seen through her own, idiosyncratic lens.

The book is slated for publication in August 2024.
