Laura was born and brought up in Swansea, around the corner from where Dylan Thomas used to live. She has always enjoyed writing stories and spent most of her childhood in a fantasy world. She became a primary school teacher in 2000 and finds lots of opportunities for exploring fantasy worlds with her pupils. She believes that everything is more fun taught in a story!
Her books include Mr Mahli’s Shed and a ghost named Dylan (Firefly Press) which was a runner up in the Firefly Children’s Book Prize 2014, Sophie Finds a Fairy Door and Joe and the Adventure Door Pirates, all published by Firefly Press. Her latest book for children is Bananabeeyumio (Gomer Press).
