Fug and the Thumps

For our forth Firefly Christmas Advent treat, Malachy Doyle, author of Pete and the Five-a-Side Vampires is celebrating his new Kayak and the forthcoming publication of his new book Fug and the Thumps publishing in February 2018.

This year my family agreed that we'd spend a maximum of £10 on Christmas presents. Which was fine till I spotted, online, the thing I REALLY wanted -  a brand new, state-of-the-art, super-duper sea kayak.

I already own a kayak, but it's 50 years old - which is virtually prehistoric for a kayak. And, try as I might, I can't seem to stop it filling up with water every time I take it out - which is NOT a good thing to happen.
In fact it's what gave me the idea for my new book, Fug and the Thumps, out in February. Among other things, the book's about everything that could possibly go wrong on a kayaking trip.
Well I don't know about you, if you read it, but I sure scared myself, writing it. So guess what? I've just bought myself a brand new, state-of-the-art super-duper sea kayak, to celebrate the upcoming publication of my new book.
I'm going to get in big trouble though as 1) I don't think you're supposed to buy your own present and 2) It cost a wee bit more than £10.
So don't tell my family!
