Christmas Crackers

For our third Firefly Christmas Advent treat, Sharon Tregenza, author of The Shiver Stone and The Jewelled Jaguar, shares her favourite Christmas funny poems:
Turkey bones and paper
empty bottles fill the bins.
But Christmas isn't over
'til your shirt is free of pins.
Why not…
mix turkey DNA
with a centipede, say
then we'll all get a leg
of the bird Christmas day.
She poked a frozen turkey
then turned around and said,
‘don't they get any bigger?’
‘No, Mam,’ he said. ‘They're dead.’
We collcted our gobbling turkey,
and settled it down for the night.
The next day we had it for dinner-
it sat next to me on the right.
