Announcing the Furry Fury Animal Competition Winner and Runners-Up

Author Jennifer Killick ran a competition over the summer asking children aged 7-12 to draw or write about a funny animal character that she can feature in her next hilarious book Alex Sparrow and the Furry Fury, sequel to Alex Sparrow and the Really Big Stink

Jennifer has spent the past four weeks sifting through all the wonderful entries. The standard was extremely high, and choosing a winning character from so many brilliant entries was a difficult job. For those who entered but weren’t selected as winners this time, it wasn’t because your entries weren’t fantastic, so please keep creating!
We are delighted to announce that the winner is Sheriynta, age 7, from St Silas Church of England Primary School in Liverpool, England.
Sheriynta's character is a miniature horse called Harry.
Harry has the following characteristics:
- he laughs when he wasn’t supposed to
- Harry loves making friends
- he has very good dance moves in dancing
- he can hear things from miles and miles away
- Harry knows when danger is coming because of his special, amazing and super hearing
Sheriynta will now see her character Harry the Horse featured in Alex Sparrow and the Furry Fury (out spring 2018), receive an advance signed copy, her name in the acknowledgements in the book and a school visit from Jennifer.
Three runners-up will also receive a signed copy of the book.
Charlotte, age 10, from Wisbech Grammar School in Cambridgeshire, England.
Lois, age 7
Charlie, age 9, from Sully Primary School in the Vale of Glamorgan, Wales.
Congratulations to the winner and runners-up and thank you to everyone who entered. And a big thank you to Scoop magazine who featured the competition.
