YA novel The Territory shortlisted for 2018 schools award

The Territory, the first novel in the chilling dystopian YA trilogy by Sarah Govett, has been shortlisted for the Trinity Schools Book Award 2018 (TSBA). The theme for the Award for 2017-18 is A New World.

The TSBA was launched in 2014-15 by librarians from the Trinity group of schools (22 independent senior schools based in London and the South East) with the aim of celebrating quality writing, both recent and older titles, on a theme.
Students in participating schools will now read the shortlisted books through the autumn and spring terms, then vote on a winner in February. The Awards also run student competitions alongside the main book awards for the best book reviews and best creative response to a book. The winners (author and student) will be announced on 2 March 2018.
Other books shortlisted:
Susan Cooper – Ghost Hawk
Sarah Crossan – The Weight of Water
Elizabeth Laird – Welcome to Nowhere
Gemma Malley – The Declaration
Philip Reeve – Railhead
Shaun Tan – The Arrival
